Most Omani government tenders ask for ISO 9001 evidence in the technical envelope. Sometimes it's a knockout requirement, sometimes it's a scoring bonus. Either way, ignoring it costs you points and sometimes the whole bid. This guide explains exactly what evaluators are looking for and how to satisfy them.

What ISO 9001 actually proves

ISO 9001:2015 is an international standard for Quality Management Systems. A certified company has documented processes for every aspect of producing, delivering, and improving a product. For a printing supplier, that means:

Documented quality control checkpoints at design, proofing, press, and finishing.
Traceability on every job (so the printer can tell you which batch, which press, which operator).
Non-conformance and corrective action procedures.
Annual internal audits.
Management review of quality metrics.

What evaluators check

Tender evaluators typically want one or more of:

A current ISO 9001:2015 certificate from a UKAS, ANAB, or comparable internationally-recognised accredited certification body.
The certification body name (Bureau Veritas, SGS, TÜV, Lloyd's Register, Intertek, DEKRA).
The validity period (current and not expired).
Scope of certification covering printing or graphic design.
Last surveillance audit date.

Disaster-recovery plan for stock and equipment.

Other certifications evaluators sometimes ask for

FSC chain-of-custody for paper sourcing. BHD sources FSC-certified paper for tenders requiring it.
ISO 14001 environmental management. Increasingly asked for sustainability scoring.
ISO 45001 occupational health and safety. Required for site-attendance contracts.
